JAMES GIBSON
Secretly wondering which village he deprived an idiot of.
Welcome to my portfolio! I hope you're having a fantastic day. If not, I hope it gets better. Everyone deserves a good day!
My passion for Graphic Design comes from living with a long term health condition. Having Cystic Fibrosis has given me a great appreciation for life and a constant drive to be the best person I can be. My love for design comes from a deep desire to express my creative ideas in as many ways as I can.
I first fell in love with design with the works of Bauhaus and Russian Constructivism - Designers such as Alexander Rodchenko and Herb Lubalin. From there, I developed interests in Swiss International Style and the work of Massimo Vignelli and Michael Beirut.
By the time I got into my first year of university, I had developed a keen interest in typography and layout systems. By the second year, I honed these skills. I still have much to learn, but I will.
It's hard to imagine this all started with me mucking around and making book covers for the short stories I still write today.
